Addison Rae Channels Marilyn Monroe in Custom White Alaïa at the Grammys 2026

Addison Rae quite literally leaned into full movie star mode for her first Grammy nomination, channeling Marilyn Monroe in a custom white Alaïa dress on the 68th Grammy Awards red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The “Diet Pepsi” singer’s dress, a sleeveless white design, featured a sharply plunging, oval neckline that dropped to the mid-torso, while rows of gathered fabric from the dress’ waist built out into a structured, asymmetrical, tutu-like skirt. Matching white pumps completed the monochrome look. The overall effect lined up with Alaïa’s current evening direction under Pieter Mulier, who recently exited the house for Versace, including sculpted hips and high-low hems across recent collections.

Rae’s styling team kept accessories minimal, with small diamond earrings and crystal body gems in a starburst pattern radiating from her belly button.

The silhouette also worked as a direct reference piece, nodding to Marilyn Monroe’s subway grate dress from “The Seven Year Itch” — especially when Rae lifted the tiered skirt to show the underskirt on the red carpet.

Rae had already set that palette at Spotify’s Best New Artist party in West Hollywood on Jan. 29, where she performed in another all-white look built around a sharp tailored jacket and frilled hot pants — a mix of menswear structure and ruffled white hot pants cut high on the leg. She also wore another white high-low look, pairing the tulle number with lace-detailed boots and a pink boa.

The singer, who first garnered attention for her time in the TikTok Hype House back in 2019, earned her first Grammy nomination this year for Best New Artist, thanks to her debut album “Addison” which had singles including “Diet Pepsi,” “Headphones On” and “Fame Is a Gun.”

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, returns to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 1, airing live 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with nine nods, followed by Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff and Cirkut with seven each; Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Leon Thomas and engineer Serban Ghenea sit close behind with six nominations apiece.
