A fairy tale among abandoned ruins.s We envision creating a romantic and timeless rose garden: a space crafted with various rose plants arranged to appear as if they have grown naturally amidst lush greenery. The ruins of the castle, serving as a backdrop for the ceremony, will add a theatrical and impactful touch. Irregularly placed seating will invite guests to ‘find their seat among the roses,’ fostering a sense of intimacy and enchantment. From the bride: “After years oflong-distance livinge across Shanghai, London, and New York, Sarah and James wanted their wedding to feel intimate and joyful—a place where family and friends could stay together and get to know each other. Inspired by the medieval castle ruins on the grounds of their Tuscan venue, they transformed the space into a hidden garden for the ceremony. Vivid red and pink roses emerged from the ground as the main floral installation, contrasting with the surrounding cypress trees and rolling hills. Guests sat on benches woven throughout the flowers, creating an intimate, immersive experience. Dinner tables overflowed with flowers, fruit, and texture, blending the ancient with the unexpected. The celebration lasted late into the night, ending with a spontaneous swim to cap the day.”

Copenhagen had always been special to James (he lived and studied there), so returning on a trip where Sarah’s parents were joining them already felt meaningful. Sarah had always been nervous about biking, but loved how core it is to the city’s culture, and she’d joked that the only way she’d try it was if James pedaled her around in one of the big cargo bikes meant for kids. James had arranged exactly that, along with tickets to climb the city’s famous spiral church tower. That morning, after a run, James encouraged Sarah to take her time getting ready, even though they were running late (very unusual!). He biked her through the city, refusing to take off his jacket despite overheating—the ring box was hidden inside. The bride’s gown was a deeply personal creation that reflected her sentimental yet modern style. It’s a unique piece of Monvieve. Sarah had her heart set on a cathedral-length veil edged in silver lace, which became the inspiration for her gown. She sourced the bodice, with a pearl-embroidered scoop neck and cap sleeves, from a vintage dress, and paired it with a custom-made dropped-waist skirt in oyster satin. For the first dance, she changed into a 1950s-inspired off-the-shoulder, dotted-tulle tea-length dress to a mashup of Sinatra’s Strangers in the Night and Volare. Classic Manolo heels, a family-gifted tiara, and earrings borrowed from her mother, worn at her own wedding, completed the look. Here is how she described the process: “I bought a vintage ’90s dress that had a pearl-embroidered scoop neck and cap sleeves. I loved its shape because it reminded me of my mom’s dress from the ’90s and had a touch of a Bridgerton silhouette. The skirt, however, wasn’t ideal, so Alison at Monvieve helped me redesign the waist and skirt. She sourced beautiful silks from Taroni in Como and suggested an oyster-colored satin, which gave the gown a romantic yet modern tone. Together with Nadin Fashion Alterations, we completely remade the skirt and waist over five months of fittings. They even created a matching satin bg, and used lace from my veil and satin from the gown for the ring pillow. The day before I left, they added pockets as a final touch. It was a very special experience.” Wanting to elevate the silhouette while preserving its nostalgic charm, she collaborated with Monvieve to redesign the skirt and waist entirely. Together, they sourced exquisite silks from Taroni in Como, ultimately choosing an oyster-colored satin that gave the dress a refined softness. For the reception, she changed into a reimagined Philippa Lepley gown—originally a ballgown purchased secondhand from Stillwhite. Nadin transformed it into a chic tea-length dress by reconstructing the corseted bodice and shortening the skirt, making it perfect for dancing beneath the Tuscan stars.

Dinner reflected James’s chef background, beginning with beef carpaccio, followed by ricotta gnudi, slow-cooked veal cheeks, and finishing with a traditional millefoglie cake at the venue’s two-Michelin-star restaurant. Guests stayed refreshed throughout the day—welcomed with flavored water, sipping Italian spritzes during cocktail hour, and enjoying estate Brunello with dinner. Later, the open bar kept the celebration flowing, with the espresso martini emerging as the undeniable star of the night.[/field]
