Former WWE Superstar MVP Makes AEW Debut, Teases Hurt Business Reunion
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has become the home for multiple former WWE Superstars who wanted to continue their career after being cast aside.
This includes former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, former AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, and legendary wrestlers like Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
Now, AEW has included another beloved superstar who is looking to make his business All Elite.

Last night on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, MVP made his surprise debut as Prince Nana gave the crowd an update on Strickland.
MVP spoke to Strickland’s immense talent and incredible title reign, but also to how Strickland smiled while negative things happened to him.
“See I don’t see any of that as a failure on Swerve,” MVP said. “No, I know how good he is. I see that as a failure on his management.”
“What I want you to do is let Swerve know when he’s ready to be taken seriously again when he’s ready to ascend to the mountain top where he belongs, please give him my business card. And let him know I’ll be ready to talk… business.”
This not only potentially unites MVP with one of the most popular superstars on the AEW roster, but hints that the Hurt Business could potentially reunite in the company.
This theory gained additional traction when MVP replied to a fan on social media who said they wanted to see former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley return with him.
“I’m working on something,” MVP said. “Follow my flow…”
MVP then took to Instagram saying that he is embarking on an “exciting new chapter of my professional career.”
“I’m excited because this new chapter may quite possibly be my final chapter,” MVP said. “And I’ve got some really cool things in store.”
“So if you’ve been a fan of mine for this long, come hang out for just a little bit longer. Same MVP. Just conducting business in a new location.”
MVP has been in the professional wrestling business since 2002 before making his WWE television debut on Aug. 4, 2006.
During his time as a wrestler, MVP won the WWE United States Championship twice and the WWE Tag Team Championship once with Matt Hardy.
MVP garnered considerable popularity as a manager, specifically for Bobby Lashley and The Hurt Business, which was made up of Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. He also managed Omos until his contract expired in Aug. 2024.
While Alexander is still signed with WWE, Benjamin and Lashley are now free agents. However, it seems more likely than ever that the Hurt Business is about to reunite once again.
