Maryland commission to study reparations after veto override

Maryland lawmakers on Wednesday voted to create a commission to study slavery, overriding a veto from Gov. Wes Moore (D) earlier this year. “This topic isn’t easy, but, again, without formal study, reparations risk being dismissed as symbolic or unconstitutional, regardless of moral merit,” said Sen.
