‘Reacher’ Fans Flock to Prime Video’s High-Octane Action Spectacle
Frank Grillo first arrived as a star in the early 2010s with his work opposite Liam Neeson in The Grey, and he joined the MCU a few years later as Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Grillo returned to the role twice, first in Captain America: Civil War and lastly in Avengers: Endgame, but he’s now an active member on the other side of the aisle of comic book storytelling. Grillo stars as Rick Flag Sr., father of Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) in James Gunn’s DCU. He first voiced the character in animation at the end of 2024 with Creature Commandos before also reprising the role in live-action first in Superman and second in Peacemaker Season 2.
However, just because Grillo is busy with his new role in the DCU doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time to star in hit action movies. A few years ago, Grillo teamed up with The Dark Knight veteran Michael Jai White for MR-9: Do or Die, an action thriller that follows an elite Bangladeshi spy who teams up with a CIA operative to bring down an international crime organization headed by a ruthless businessman. The film opened in the US during the summer of 2023, but it played on only a limited number of screens, leading to it grossing less than $1 million at the box office. It recently premiered on Prime Video globally, where the film has quietly become one of the top 10 most-watched films on the platform. In America, it’s also streaming for all Hulu subscribers, and the streamer has not announced any plans for it to leave the platform anytime soon. The film is the perfect watch for Reacher fans.
What Else Is Streaming on Prime Video Right Now Globally?
There are only three movies more popular than MR-9: Do or Die on Prime Video right now. The biggest hit for the streamer is The Wrecking Crew, the Hawaii-set crime thriller starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. Roofman, the 2025 crime thriller based on a true story, is also one of the biggest hits on Prime Video right now. The film stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst opposite Peter Dinklage. The Smashing Machine, Dwayne Johnson’s Oscar-bait that flopped at the box office, has also found streaming redemption on Prime Video over the last few days.
Be sure to check out MR-9: Do or Die on Prime Video globally or on Hulu in America, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
